Starting a review with the service. Definitely a small restaurant but they make it work! After being seated we were given our chips and got our drinks within a minute. They're very fast. The food was pretty good as well. Only thing is if you eat the steak. Plan on being near a bathroom for a little while throughout the day
Monte Del Rey has excellent food. Real authentic Mexican dishes The staff is very courteous. At times you have a small problem with language barriers mainly They accent. Mast is a very quiet dining experience times the dining area area can be very noisy.
The food was excellent very authentic and the margaritas were very good. Staff did a great job and the owner was there and very friendly and helpful. Definitely would eat here again.

Inexpensive but generous portions of standard American style Mexican dishes. The fajitas were wonderful and easily feed two people. I don't recommend the margaritas, but the $6 beer was huge and could not be finished with all that food.

Monte de Ray never disappoints, and is consistent in good service, quick seating, quick and delicious meal prep, and good portions to cost ratio.
Great value, portions, excellent prep and service. Hidden gem behind Walmart. Nothing fancy. You know it's authentic because many Latin families are eating there.
You know this place was actually pretty good. I didn't expect that in West Jefferson. Salsa's were decent. Rojo was a tad sweet but verde and picante were on point. Fourth star was for the grande dos equis amber on draft. Staff was friendly. Would definitely go back.
